Structural Integration (Rolfing) - Bodywork in Madison
Who Should Consider Structural Integration?
All bodies have some degree of disorder and compensation in their structure, therefore making SI beneficial for all of us. However, I realize most of us need more compelling reasons to engage in this series of transformative sessions.
Individuals with a history of injury and trauma who notice that the effects of these often minor (certainly major as well) injuries are beginning to interfere with your everyday lives should definitely consider SI. Often these individuals have tried traditional medical treatments, exercise, stretching or massage with only varying degrees of success. This group might include current or former athletes, musicians, performers or those engaged in physically demanding jobs or stressful lifestyles.
You should consider SI if you have experienced or are currently experiencing any of the following:
- chronic pain
- reoccurring injuries
- limited range of motion or stiffness
- muscular imbalance
- frequent headaches
- repetitive stress injuries
- TMJ dysfunction
- plantar fascitis
- sciatica
You may also want to consider SI if you are on a spiritual path and you find that your physical limitations prevent you from attaining a higher level of spiritual or emotional peace. Instead of viewing the body as something to transcend, SI can serve as an educational resource allowing you a more intimate and comfortable relationship with your physical body, which in turn allows a greater ability to experience serenity on all planes.
Structural Integration is appropriate for people of all ages.
