Client Testimonials

After 4 years of trying to run a marathon, but having my body break down during training and getting injured, I was able to train without injury and complete my first marathon two weeks after completing the 10 Series. I know this accomplishment would not have been possible without Erica's magic. As a physical therapy professional, I can truly appreciate her assessment skills and her knowledge of anatomy and of the kinetic chain. I highly recommend anyone who is having musculoskeletal problems to visit Erica.

I am very willing to drive the 2.5 hours round-trip to receive the exceptional treatment that Erica offers. The combination of knowledge, intuition, and heartfelt caring is hard to duplicate. My body has been making nice steady shifts in the right direction with her healing touch.

I wanted to share with you that the piano feels better this morning! I feel like I am able to access more of the transfer of energy and weight through my shoulders to my hands -- more ease in the sound! Very exciting. I think I have become so used to feeling tension in my shoulders and arms that I was not even registering it as tension. Thanks for the increased awareness!

In April of 2005 I was diagnosed with a severe and chronic case of Lyme disease. I underwent intensive treatment including chelation, UVB, hyperbaric, Infrared Sauna, and 12 weeks of antibiotic interventions. When the intensive was finished, my body, though cleansed of the spirochete, was now riddled with pain and discomfort and I was dually diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I added chiropractic, acupuncture and sound therapies to the mix which helped a bit but still received little relief.

I agreed to do the 10 Series with Erica though I was a bit jaded and secretly skeptical that I would actually experience positive change. I couldn't have been more wrong! Erica's skill and compassionate presence was immediately evident and I felt relief after the very first session! She was patient with my many questions, proactive about sharing self-directive exercises for me to do between sessions and provided my body just the right amount of challenge and support necessary for growth and transition. I highly recommend Structural Integration for just about everyone, and especially to those who do not want to waste another day in their lives suffering from chronic pain. There IS another choice! And while you're body is reconnecting with its own healthy, balanced place, you will learn to pay close attention to subtleties in your posture, your stance, your way-of-being that you never before noticed. It's like plugging BACK in to Wholeness - a place for many of us that has been long forgotten.

I'm not sure how I can explain in words my transformation over the past couple of years; I just know that Erica has helped me to better understand how my body works. With her gentle, but firm touch I can now sit "cross legged" with ease and can appreciate feeling connected to my "core" strength. I always look forward to my maintenance sessions which I continue to receive every few months after completing the 10 Series.

The effects of Structural Integration (SI) on my body were much greater than I anticipated. Before I began I had received deep tissue massage for years. While massage could heal a sore muscle, it never changed the way that I stood, or walked, or sat in my chair. In contrast, SI completely changed my carriage over the long term, significantly improving my posture and ease of movement.

Prior to the 10 Series, I worked at having better posture; now I can relax into “good” posture effortlessly. My feet were tight and unstable; now I feel I have stable platforms to stand upon. I used to slouch into my lower back in both a seated and standing position; now I have length through both my abdominal area and my back completely removing the slouch. My shoulders were hunched forward; now they settle back properly and provide openness in my chest. I finished the 10 Series 2 years ago and my body still shows the beneficial effects.

Structural Integration also changed my sports performance. In yoga my balance increased significantly as I was able to spread my toes to increase surface area and reach longer through my spine. In addition, my flexibility increased exponentially with no additional effort. Having run for years, my stride had shortened as a result of repeated injuries. Even nursing those old injuries and practicing yoga I was unable to increase my stride until I received Structural Integration work, and then, I started bounding along the trails again.

I treated myself to the 10 Series for my 30th birthday. I did not have any specific medical problems per se; I just wanted to start taking better care of myself. Throughout the experience I learned more about my body, how it’s designed to work and what misconceptions most of us have about posture & many of the movements we make. I appreciated and enjoyed Erica’s experience and knowledge. She is competent, patient and warm. I recommend the 10 Series to anyone, without reservation, regardless of specific problems one might expect to treat. Next to healthy diet and exercise, Structural Integration just might be the next thing every health conscious individual should do.
